Revisit verdictWe'd seen a group of students devour this dish the first time we visited Chuan Wang, so despite the very off-putting translation and name, we were super excited to finally try the "gross blood characteristics mong". It's full of different ingredients (including blood, tripe, spam, mushrooms, different types of noodle and bean curd skin), was super spicy and delicious - though it's definitely not a dish for everyone.

Chuan Wang is Sichuan food in Footscray and it’s pretty good. Please go here. Try it out. Don’t let it die as it really deserves to survive. Its décor is pretty standard for Barkly St, so it doesn’t have the flair of Dainty Sichuan or anything. It’s not much to look at. But I have to say the food was pretty great. Anyone who is a fan of Sichuan food really should give it a go. If you live in the west then you have twice the reason to eat here. The menu is pretty expansive and it was all reasonably priced. It gets the thumbs up.
