The good? Cute little bar with nice cocktails, and attentive service.
The bad? A little on the expensive side (especially for beer).

Wafu Tsukemen Ramen - Dashi and soy sauce broth, house made thick noodles served with slow cooked pork (chashu), bamboo shoots and seaweed $17 (420g)

Wafu Ramen - Soy sauce and dashi broth - cooked over 48 hours, house made thin noodle served with slow cooked pork (chashu), bamboo shoots and seaweed $15 (regular)

Egg $2

The good? The fit-out, the service, the fact that they stock Coedo beer (my personal favourite), the gooey egg, along with the delicious 'japas' (Japanese tapas)!
The bad? It was a bit expensive overall, and we were a little underwhelmed by the ramen. To be honest, we don't really see much point in cooking the soy sauce and dashi broth for 48 hours.
Would we go back? Maybe. I'd like to try their other 'japas', and possibly the curry ramen...

Fika time at Dolcetti

Pages, Plants and Plots presents
'The true history of bread'
with Boris Portnoy (Auction Rooms)
at North Melbourne Library (free event)

Come and explore the relationship between the bread and the bread maker with Boris Portnoy of Auction Rooms, who will guide participants as they explore the sensory experience of dough.

Learn about techniques for baking bread including clay, stone and direct, and share stories and folk knowledge about grains, bread and food.

Participants are encouraged to bring a sense of curiosity and wonder, and a keenness to start learning about this ancient food. They will leave with the confidence, and the starter kit, to forge their own dough path and start creating their own bread history.

Khachapuri (Georgian cheese bread)

Fukuryu Ramen - Melbourne, Victoria

Nori tofu $4.90

Chicken karaage $5.90

Tam tam ramen - "Spicy ramen! With minced pork topping" $9.90

Signature tonkotsu ramen - "Thick and creamy" $9.90

Free green tea soft serve

The good? The broth in the 'tam tam' was flavoursome, the egg was actually gooey inside, and the free green tea soft serve was a nice touch.
The bad? For a 'signature' dish, I was left a little disappointed with my tonkotsu ramen as I found it lacked flavour. Meanwhile, the 'tam tam' was flavoursome but was described as a spicy ramen and unfortunately we couldn't taste the spice. Luckily, you can add your own at the table.
Would we go back? Yes, we'd give it another go ... especially if we couldn't get into Sichuan House next door.
