Revisit verdict? I loved my 'California Games' burger, though I think his 'Golden Axe' burger could have benefited from a bit more sauce. Still, our visit to 8Bit was a delicious treat, and we'll certainly be back :)

Malouf's Zum Zum - Carlton North, Victoria

Fried haloumi cheese with home made fig jam (3pc) 15

Grilled king prawns marinated with chermoula and fresh coriander (3pc) 21

Ras el hanout spiced grilled quail with lentil-fava bean salad 14

Manti - Turkish ravioli filled with feta, pumpkin & smoky paprika in warm saffron yoghurt (5pc) 16

White cabbage salad with mint & garlic 7

Grilled calamari with chickpea and harissa couscous 27

Shish Tawook - grilled skewered chicken and green peppers with almond rice 26

Slow cooked lamb shoulder, baharat spices, pumpkin and creamy skordalia 29

Revisit verdict? Our Turkish guest was a little disappointed in the manti, but everything else was pretty yummy. While all the meats were cooked well and super tender, surprisingly, the highlights were actually the rice, couscous and the simple cabbage salad which all carried a lot of flavour. We were unfortunately too full for dessert, but I think we'd be more than happy to revisit this cosy little eatery.
