Brûlée french toast with 'devil on a horseback' dates, bacon and poached rhubarb 15

Would I go back? After our bread workshop with Boris Portnoy, I was tempted to try out Auction Rooms again, and I wasn't disappointed. While the french toast was probably a little too decadent for my tastes, it was still a very lovely dish, and I could certainly see its appeal. The black pudding was an absolute delight to eat, and I don't regret ordering a breakfast side dish, despite how full I was by the end of the meal. (The dish has also inspired us to pickle our own excess pine mushrooms!) Coffee was great, as expected, while the service was attentive and efficient. If I didn't have to wait too long for a table, I'd be very happy to revisit and taste some more dishes from the menu.
